Mini Football
The development of Mini-Soccer as an introduction to football for young people began in 1993 with the promotion of Mini-Soccer Centres. Mini-Soccer provides a fun introduction to the football on appropriate playing areas and with modified rules. The opportunity was available at over 1,000 centres across the country for children to turn up and play, not in structured teams, leagues and competitions, but for fun.

The initiative now represents a priority for The Football Association as a whole. The prospect of an infrastructure from under 7's to under 10's with young boys and girls playing Mini-Soccer, backed by the overwhelming support of youth and schools football, enhanced by the FA Charter Standard is a very exciting prospect not only for young players, but all involved in children's football.
