Every green is unique - as it will be up to each local community to decide what the particular site should look like and what features it should have. Millennium Greens are a nationwide initiative of the Countryside Agency supported by the Millennium Commission. In order to deliver the 250 Greens by the year 2000, the initiative closed to new applications in the summer of 1998."
