All players are welcome, from novices to seasoned
veterans of all ages and experience. Year-round bowls is
offered, either outside on our immaculate green, or
indoors on our recently re-furbished indoor green. You
will be joining one of the leading bowling clubs in the
country, which has produced 25 national champions and 35
Internationals over the years. Even if you have never
played, getting started couldn’t be easier! If you
have never bowled before, you are entitled to three
free-of-charge coaching sessions, during which you will
be introduced to the rudiments of the game, the dress
code, and some basic rules.

Established in 1928, our name is known worldwide. For
many years we were fortunate enough to host the English
Bowling Association National Finals, and with so many
English Internationals belonging to the Club, we were
referred to as the “Mecca of Bowls”.
Even today, we proudly claim to have one of the
finest and truest indoor bowling surfaces in the
country. In 1998, we had a completely new laser-levelled
floor and underpinnings laid in our indoor pavilion,
together with new underlay and “Greengauge”
carpeting. Seasoned bowlers of many years’ standing
have remarked on how pleasurable it is to bowl here.
