Priya Wickramasinghe
Priya Wickramasinghe
is a Sri Lankan born cookery writer. She has lived and worked in
Britain for the past 40 years.

She is the author
of several books: Spicy and Delicious, The Oriental Cookbook,
Leith's Book of Indian and Sri Lankan Cooking, and Food
of India.
She has taken
part in several Indian cookery programmes for the Yorkshire Television
Series Farmhouse Kitchens and has contributed recipes to the books
that accompanied the series - Farmhouse Kitchens-3.

In 1993 Priya
was the winner of the Cordon Bleu-Independent Cookery competition.
She gave a demonstration
at the world-famous literary festival at Hay-on-Wye in 1997 before
signing copies of her latest book.. She has also given several demonstrations
in London at various food festivals to promote her most recent book.
In 2005 she was a Lecturer and Demonstrator at the Abergavenny Food
Festival in Wales.
In July 1998
she gave a week-long Sri Lankan cookery course at the Leith's School
of Food and Wine, where she has been a guest lecturer for the past
20 years.
For the past
20 years she has been a part-time teacher in Cardiff.
