Approach JEC believes that the passage of a scheme through the planning and approval process can be greatly facilitated by proper and early consideration of all environmental issues, both in terms of assessment of environmental effects, including formal Environmental Statements where required, and also of the development of effective landscape mitigation proposals, to not only screen a proposed development, but also to integrate it with its surroundings and, where possible, to provide some local environmental enhancement. Development can often be a catalyst for positive environmental change, and the maximisation of opportunities for such change can be important in the ultimate acceptability and success of a project. JEC has experience of the application of these principles to a wide variety of projects, including major roads, waste water treatment works, reservoirs, business parks, waste disposal sites and industrial premises. |
