A letter has been received from Haselor's Australian Visitor (Local Past, Autumn, 1996), reporting that on her return home, she related to her family the exciting time she'd had in researching her forbears, John Lane and his son, John. She wrote: " I have put together a sort of travel kit for relatives who vow they will make a similar pilgrimage in future years". The kit includes papers produced by our Society, other material picked up in Alcester Library, and maps and photographs.
Our visitor sent Greetings for a happy Christmas, and in demonstration of her feeling for all things English, intended to maintain her tradition of eating a Christmas dinner of roast turkey and plum pudding, with her relatives, in a temperature of 30 degrees plus -we may hear more of this Anglophile!
