In Memoriam.
The recent death of Mrs. Marie Hemming robs us of still another of those who formed the
kernel of our society in its early years. Older members will remember her as a very
friendly and charming person and bemoan the fact that Alcester is poorer for her passing.
By - pass.
The so-called 'Studley By Pass,' which the government is refusing to initiate, would also
be a Coughton and King's Coughton By-Pass. A number of letters from King's Coughton
residents to the Minister in charge of road works, Mr. J. Prescott, have received replies
which are courteously framed but add up to the information that no further action is to be
taken. Meanwhile the aforesaid residents fear to cross the road.
