bull.gif (191 bytes) An interesting booklet recently added to stock is ST. Mary the Virgin, Kinwarton originally researched by the Rev. Frank Wain and recently updated by W. Horton and J. F1arle. It gives a detailed history of the church, with a list of incumbents. It also includes information on Kinwarton Dovecote.

bull.gif (191 bytes) Discovering Roman Alcester, written and published by Warwickshire Museum is an excellent brief history, having been brought up to date from the latest finds from the excavations.

Brewin Books) is a novel which captures the vitality of Redditch in the early years of this century in the fishing tackle and needle making factories of the town. bull.gif (191 bytes) A collection of photo's drawn from the Shakespeare Birthplace Trust collection. The 1991 NATIONAL TRUST HANDBOOK is now available, an invaluable guide for those wishing to visit the Trust1s properties.

bull.gif (191 bytes) For walkers and horse riders, a useful booklet FIVE MILES FROM INKBERROW, written and published by G.Allison, gives well-detailed notes and maps of bridlepaths around Inkberrow. PRIVIES GALORE! by Mollie Harris (Alan Sutton) is a lively look at privies through the ages; a light, readable, informative and amusing book.

bull.gif (191 bytes) Warwickshire Libraries Department are holding a photography competition. Entry forms available at all libraries. The subject can be people, places or events in Warwickshire. The photos will eventually be added to the libraries' photographic collection. Prizes, which are sponsored, include a weekend for two in Paris, and £50 and £25. July 3lst, 1991, is the closing date.
