In 1989 the Countryside Commission announced that a new National Forest would be centred on the Midlands. In response to that, the County and District Councils of Warwickshire have produced a document 'The New Forest of Arden', now in the library. We also have the new 20 volume edition of the Oxford English Dictionary; it is the largest and most authoritative dictionary of the English language - it provides a historical record of the development and change of meaning of each word. 'Birmingham's Working Horses' by Bryan Holden (pub. Barbryn Press) is a celebration of horse-drawn days, containing a superb collection of vintage photographs.
