Tyne Valley Community Rail Partnership, in collaboration with Arriva Trains, recently ran a ‘music train’ from Newcastle to Carlisle and back, featuring not only the music and humour of George Welch, but also a real ale bar courtesy of Wylam brewery.

What about a train doing the reverse route, or even better, trying the idea out on the Cumbrian coastal line?
