About Jun Do Kan Great Britain

In 1985, Sensei Richard Barrett returned from training at the Jun Do Kan in Naha, Okinawa, and was granted permission from Sensei Eiichi Miyazato to open a branch association here in Great Britain.

The aim of our Association is purely to study and practice authentic Okinawan Goju Ryu Karate Do. The size of our group is not important, but we aim to achieve quality, cultivate enthusiasm and develop a family atmosphere. We recognise that our art has a lot to offer us, and that we must practice to the best of our abilities if we are to reap the benefits.

We are a non-profit-making amateur association, and none of our instructors receives a wage for teaching. To quote Sensei Eiichi Miyazato "you should not eat from Karate".
