I am a Consultant in Paediatric Anaesthesia to The Hospital for Sick Children, Great Ormond Street. I am also Director of the Pain Control Service. I have been a consultant to Great Ormond Street for 19 years and am the immediate past Clinical Director for Anaesthesia and Surgery. My special interests are anaesthesia for cardiac surgery, ENT surgery, endoscopy and urology. I have a special expertise in the management of pain following operations and have written extensively on this subject. I have held visiting professorships and have also given international lectures on pain control and anaesthesia for children. I am the co-author of the leading Textbook of Paediatric Anaesthesia published in 2008.
