Cosy Coaches

Bolsover Heritage Service

Travel in style to the attractions in the District on this delightful small coach, authentically restored with comfortable seats, wind down windows, opening sunroof and period music. Why not leave the car and travel from attraction to attraction, or choose a starting point, visit an attraction and return. The opportunities are endless; alight at one destination, walk and re-board at another destination, or simply ride through the very scenic countryside, noting the rich heritage of the area.

Take advantage of this service all day by taking your lunch and utilising the picnic spots at the attractions or on the trails. The route also includes many country inns, where excellent traditional cuisine is available.

The 1948 Bedford "OB" Duple spent its early working life in the Dundee area and lay in a shed for twenty years before being purchased and restored in 1993/94 by a group of volunteers based at Whitwell. The income from the passengers fares will be used to restore another vehicle, with the aim of eventually establishing a fleet for a museum.

The Heritage Service will be running again in 1998 on Sundays and Bank Holiday Mondays from Sunday 24th May to Monday 31st August.
