| Castle Walk takes you around the Castle on the River side. There are imposing views of the stone battlements and splendid views of the Swale valley.
The images below look up the valley. The river is a daunting 50 foot below. The stone bridge leads from Holy Hill on the left to the Green. Construction of the bridge started in 1788 and was completed a year later. Two contractors were used one employed by Richmond Corporation, the other by the County. Surprising therefore that it is still standing. |
