Teleworking in the UK Labour Force

As a result of recommendations by Ursula Huws in a study commissioned by the UK Government in 1996, since 1997 the UK has been the only country systematically to collect information on teleworking in its Labour Force survey (a large rolling national population survey covering some 60,000 people in each round). The relevant questions are asked in the spring of each year with the results normally becoming available in mid-summer. They reveal a steady and continuing growth in teleworking as the years go by.
