We have launched an occasional newsletter to draw attention to new research, publications, web-sites, conferences, policy initiatives or other developments which might interest the people who visit these pages. The newsletter may also include reviews and critical commentaries on current events on which we regard ourselves as well-informed. The idea is NOT to attempt any kind of exhaustive overview (there are already dozens of web-sites which purport to do this, and it gives us a headache just looking down their lists of links), On the contrary, the idea is to be highly selective and critical, with the aim of filtering out or exposing the hype, the unoriginal reworkings of old research, the spurious coinage of catch-phrases and anything else we regard as a waste of an intelligent reader's time. We are not a fancy high-tech operation, so please do not expect any bells or whistles. You will get a plain text email which will be handled manually at this end.
