Portugal - Algarve Trip May 2002Useful link: http://www.lonelyplanet.com/destinations/europe/portugal/
Ta-do's and not ta-do's:
* Driving - First of all, if you're going to Lisboa / Lisbon then don't even consider getting a hire car, if you do then make sure you have fully comprehensive insurance included in your deal! You WILL have an accident - they drive like maniacs out there!!
* At night - sleep with your window open and you might end up looking like a pack of Maltesers - unless you're immune to muzzy-o bites
* When you eat out - The bread and the olives you get on your table, you'll get charged per person unless you send them away!
* Choice of food - must try black pork kebabs, and steak on the stone. You can ask for peri-peri sauce on the side - goes well with anything!! - unless you're planning to have dessert in private, you're warned, it hurts. ;)
Pics ready in a few dayz, watch this page.
Where to eat If you have a car and staying anywhere near Albufeira then you must try "A Casa Da Carne". Try the Black port kebab or the steak on the stone. Beware though - one of the more expensive of the restaurants out there - €55 for two for the three course and vino.
Contact: Vale Rabelho, Estrada De Vale Parra, Albufeira - 289 591 898
Another one we tried: Dom Diniz - this one's near Guia, ask the locals, they'll give you directions. As for cost for two to eat - €75, gets you a three course and el vinos.
