MORE INFORMATION

---

In 1999, I did some more rooting around in the (then) Xoom.com site, and found this particular page on licensing. Please keep in mind that my page is non-commercial and not for profit while you read this.

(There is a copy of these terms with highlighted extracts of this below)
It would seem that the artists commissioned by Xoom to do these photographs have done so via a third-party copyright system. I will enquire and if directed purchase and publish the license given by xoom.com regardless of the fact that mine is a non-commercial site.

However, if you do see any loop-holes in this, there is a contact email and address for the legal adviser of Xoom. As far as I am concerned, once I put this license on my site and the Universal Pictures Copyright notice on each and every page, I have done what is needed.

Here is the information I have found, if not believed it can be found at the web-site address above.
----
Do I need a license?

When you purchase a CD-ROM set of the Web Clip Empire you are automatically granted permission to use the clips on any and all personal projects and on *one* commercial Web site. If you are going to be using the clips on more than one commercial site or for other commercial purposes, then yes, you need a license. These policies and prices apply to non-profit organizations, as well.
----
The only clause that would be applicable to a sight light mine *if* it was a commercial web-site, would be this one (Note: the IMPORTANT footer to this proposed license, and the fact that it applies to *commercial and *professional* web-designers only).

This last bit applies to *Professional Web site Designers and Developers and for firms or individuals who create multimedia presentations for use by their clients*

At the last look, I am not in that category, so *this* applies:

"When you purchase a CD-ROM set of the Web Clip Empire you are automatically granted permission to use the clips on any and all personal projects and on *one* commercial Web site. If you are going to be using the clips on more than one commercial site or for other commercial purposes, then yes, you need a license."
