Accreditation

Registration Fee

This is currently £100 for UK-based providers, and £250 for providers whose principal administration is outside the UK.

This will be deducted in full from the assessment fee if a full submission is made within six months of registration.

Assessment Fee

This covers the assessment process.    The amount will vary, depending on the scale and timing of the assessment required, and is agreed between ODL QC and the provider following application for assessment.

As a guide, the assessment of most small and medium-sized providers offering only a limited range of courses can normally be accomplished for £600.

This covers visits within the UK, one Specialist Assessor for first accreditations and the Reporting Assessor.    It can be reduced in special circumstances.

It will be more if:

  • Travel outside the UK is required;   this will be charged at cost;
  • Questionnaires are circulated by post, at a fee of £150 per 200 UK addresses.
  • More Assessors are used.    The fee depends on the amount of work involved: the current rate for specialist assessments is £500 per assessor per day.

Any registration fees will be deducted in full from the assessment fee if a full submission is made within six months of registration.

We may ask for a deposit when you apply for assessment, if you are a registered but non-accredited provider, or if you are based overseas.    Any deposit will be deducted in full from the assessment fee if a full submission is received within six months of application.

Annual Fees

These are charged to all accredited providers and are based on a small percentage of their income from their open and distance learning provision.

Cheques should be made payable to ODL QC.    All fees are non-refundable.
