MARK JAMES - Mark was born in Taunton, Somerset in 1980. Until the age of 13 he had no idea what he wanted to do with his life but after being given a cassette by the well known local band called “Kalibre” he fell in love with one of the tracks by Garth Brooks - “The Dance.” This “spurred” him on to find out more about country music and with the help of this local band he has discovered and nurtured this passion and now feels most at home when up on stage singing and performing.
JAMES PARSONS - James was born in Taunton, Somerset in 1987. Mark, a family member passed on the cassette by Kalibre and he too came under the spell of country music. When Mark decided to start a duo he approached James with the idea and “Spur” was born. Again, like Mark, James thoroughly enjoys what he is doing although he never thought that he would have to courage to stand up in front of an audience as he is quite a shy and quiet guy.
