DANNY LEE
Born in Rochester, Kent, DANNY has had an interest in country music since a very early age listening to the music of Jim Reeves, Slim Whitman and Johnny Cash.
After learning the guitar and playing with bands in the South of England he decided to form his own outfit and they began to tour. The time on the road took its toll and this band split up.
Missing the routine and most of all the music, Danny put together a new band called “A band named Sioux” and after a year on the road, in 1991 they turned professional and made several albums.
Sadly again, touring finally split the band in 1999.
Again, missing the music, Danny got together with a long standing friend - DAWN REDFORD and they formed the duo “SAPPHIRE”
A duo who have now performed together since 1999 comprising DANNY LEE and DAWN REDFORD.
Mainly performing the older style of country music.
DAWN REDFORD
Born in Sussex, Dawn has also had an interest in country music from an early age. She started playing rhythm guitar but progressed to keyboards, playing in a local band until her late teens.
Her interest in country music was firstly satisfied by the successful running of several bands but then, having taken an interest in the bass guitar and again the rhythm guitar she began accompanying herself
Having known Danny since she was eight years old she returned to running a band, the highly successful “A band named Sioux”
Missing the music after they split up in 1999 she finally returned to singing and joining Danny, they formed the duo “SAPPHIRE”.
