Gary was born and raised in Norfolk where he still lives with his wife Sarah and daughter Saffron. His parents loved country music so he grew up listening to the sounds of Don Williams, Johnny Cash, Jim Reeves and Merle Haggard. After a while, he developed his own love of country favourites among them being, Alan Jackson, Toby Keith, Garth Brooks, Keith Urban and Travis Tritt, to name just a few.
Now accompanying himself on his guitar and using self recorded backing tracks, Gary offers a really good solo show covering the total range of country music. With a background of playing Rock, Folk, Blues, Pop and “Middle of the Road” there is a very distinct “Gary Leonard” sound
As well as the well loved country music hits, Gary also offers some really good self-penned numbers during his shows. He is equally at home at a traditional country music night as a line dance evening.
