Modern Country and line dance at its best.
Colin Fidoe and Geoff Bate have a wealth of musical experience behind them and they continue to offer several specialist shows. They have both been playing since the age of 12 years but although their paths crossed several times over a period of 35 years, it wasn’t until a chance meeting in the summer of 1997 that they decided to work together and form the Country duo Easy-Rider.Colin had been on the country music scene for over 10 years in various bands but this was Geoff’s first encounter with country music and line dancing, and in July 1998 he took the plunge and left his engineering job, thus allowing Easy-Rider to become a full-time professional act able to travel the length and breadth of this country and abroad.

Another big joint decision was making Easy Rider predominantly a line dance act. An absolute must for those who want to keep the dance floor full all night is to have the help and advice on an instructor/choreographer and they are lucky enough to have one always on hand. Jan “Stray Cat” Brookfield is Colin’s partner and it is she who is consulted. She has choreographed many dances, several of which have appeared in the Linedancer & Up Country Magazines over the last few years.
Performing on the line dance circuit means there is never time to lean back on your laurels. Everything changes so quickly : a dance that was a floor-filler a month ago may be obsolete by the next time you play it, so ways and means have to be found of keeping a finger on the pulse of what is going on out there on the dance floor, and never get stale. Over the last four years they have kept the dancers happy at events big and small all over the U.K. and Europe. They say experience comes with age, so at least that’s something they are not short of. The key factor is to enjoy what you are doing, and they do ! This is probably why they were twice nominated “Dedicated Linedance Band” in the Linedancer Magazine.
