Dean was born and raised in Sault-St-Marie, Ontario, Canada. He started playing guitar whilst in junior high school and although like may others he was influenced by the styles of Elvis, Buddy Holly and Gene Vincent he himself played anything from Rock’n’ Roll to Folk and Country. Joining a local band as the lead guitarist, he found himself singing for the first time when the current singer left at very short notice.
After a period of serving in the R.C.A.F. In Germany, he came to England in 1964 and got a job as a roofer during the day but continued to play by joining various bands playing again Rock‘n Roll and Country at night.
In 1978, Dean was invited to join Tank Records and with them he released two albums and two extended play 45’s, the first being produced and engineered by Dave Sheriff.
Tank Records ceased trading but such was Dean’s love of country music that he spent hours traveling from one end of the country to the other until an appearance with Frank Ifield led him to an introduction to Richard Da Silva who owned Champ records. Again this company ceased trading but by now Dean was well established as a touring Artiste.
These days, Dean records on the C.T.M. Label. His show comprises a large repertoire of material to suit all tastes - from pure Country to Line dance and all things in between - “Maple Leaf Country with Class”
