Carolann was born in Denaby Main, a small mining village in South Yorkshire. Her early years at school found her learning to play the guitar and violin which was to stand her in good stead in later years. With a love of country music firmly in her mind, she later started singing at a local restaurant and was then thrilled to be asked to sing as the top of the bill for a local charity. From then onwards she was asked more and more to appear and private parties and clubs and gradually she realised that she might be able to make this her career
Her first recording was made in 1998 and from this she obtained a tour of the USA appearing at such grand places as the Ryman Auditorium and the original Grand Old Opry. By 2001 she had released other material and had teamed up with Andy Spivey to create the successful duo “Dixie Diamonds”. This duo split in 2004 as Andy left to concentrate on his band commitments. Carolann then came together with other musicians to form the band “Highway 4” but this folded after the lead guitarist had a major wrist injury and had to withdraw plus she was receiving more and more solo work.
Since then, she has found her diary becoming increasingly full as a solo artiste.
