Carl was born in Germany in 1971, the son of an army officer. In 1990 he bought himself a guitar but it was not until he decided to follow in his father’s footsteps by joining the army himself, that he taught himself to play, learning everything from folk to “pop.” The nine years in the army gave him the opportunity to get out and “gig” playing in both the local clubs and those belonging to the army. It was in the local clubs that the passion of his life “country music” caught hold - a passion that is still with him today.
During his return to the UK he formed and joined a few bands including his own duo “Razor Edge”. He also spent a short time with Chris Raddings and Jim Dean (of the Dean Brothers) but always had the urge to perform as a solo artiste.
Working with backing tracks that are mainly produced by himself and a skilled friend, Carl offers a great show both musically and visually. Most of his time is spent at the front of the stage or down with the audience where he even sometimes joins in with the local dancers. To Carl, country music is not just a business it is a “way of life.”
