JON KEYS - drums and vocals
Jon started his career in music as a road manager and then drummer with David Jones(who later changed his name to “Bowie”) In 1970 Jon had his first taste of county music whilst working with the Johnny Young 4. The band played most of the music clubs and theatres and were also regulars at the Wembley country music festivals. In 1972 he formed a band called “Whiskey”and then in 1979 he was invited tojoin the “Ned Porridge Band”. This band had a cult following playing outlaw country music and supported Billy Jo Spears on her 1980 UK tour. In 1987 he formed Memphis Roots and toured the UK extensively but due to ill health he had to leave the band in 1999. After a full recovery, in 2003 he joined “8 Seconds”.
A trio offering mainly traditional country musicwith a smattering of modern numbers.
TONY CALDWELL - lead guitar and vocals
Tony first began playing country music back in the 60s influenced by Rick Nelson, Elvis and Buddy Holly. Over the years he has played with Garry Blackmore, Plain Loco, Memphis Roots and the Johnny Young band. Having got together with an American Artiste from the USAF they formed the band Texas Night Life and toured from 1998 to 2001 when they disbanded. Still with his love of country music, Tony formed “8 Seconds”. His vocals range from Haggard, Jones and Hank Williams to Vince Gill and Steve Wariner. He is not a big fan of “pop” country and tends to prefer the likes of Alan Jackson and George Strait when either choosing new material or just listening for his own pleasure.

ROGER BARNARD - bass guitar and vocals
Roger was born to parents with a musical background and it was natural for him to study both drama and music in his early years. After leaving, he played guitar and sang with bands “The Golden Palamino” and “Swlabr”. At 24 years of age he moved to Cambridge and after playing in various bands was asked to join a semi-pro band called “Stargazer”. Soon he began to listen to the music of Rodney Crowell, Vince Gill and Brooks and Dunn and after sitting in on an audition secured a permanent position with the band “Riski Bizniz” and “Crunchy Frog”. In 2002, 8 Seconds needed a dep bass player who could also do high harmonies - Roger stepped in to help and Tony soon asked him if he would like to play with them permanently.
