New video gives insight into life for people with learning disabilities

The views of people with learning disabilities on how they would like to lead their lives arc featured in a new video hv the Mental Health Foundation.

The video follows the publication of Building Expectations. the report of a year-long Inquiry into the services and opportunities that currently exist for people with learning disabilities in the comn~nnity. Fhe Inquiry examined over 600 pieces of evidence - nearly 300 of which came from people with learnint,H disabilities - and made 38 recommendations for improvement to Government

The video is an invaluable summarv of the issues examined by the Inquiry, and covers subjects ranging trom accommodation and day services. to employment, education, leisure and friendships.
