5 5/8", 29 pages + 3 pages of advertisements, 8 full page black and white
photographs. A most interesting account of the Crooked Spire of Chesterfield.
This is a 14th. century spire built of timber and covered with lead;

order to counteract the lean, a twist was introduced. The effect today is dramatic
and well illustrated here from different directions. Over the last 100 years
considerable restoration has taken place, and there are interesting interior
and exterior photographs showing the problems encountered. Soft covers; stapled
- the staples have rusted, and the inner sheet (pages 15-18) is detached from
the staples. Covers darkened; but generally a very good copy. US$ 27.00 /
