Conclusion

All current and recent Cecil products are year 2000 compliant.

In many products year 2000 compliance is not applicable because time/date is not represented within the product.

Of the tens of thousands of instruments delivered world wide less than one hundred are non compliant. These are of the older 5000 and 6000 series produced before 1990. The basic operation of these instruments is not affected in any way, but they do not comply as follows:

• There are irregularities in the recognition of which years are leap years.
• There are irregularities in response to the entry of years beyond 1999. They are accepted as 19xx, but since only the last 2 digits are printed, they appear correct on reports.
