Details of Testing

The following dates are set as the current date in the product. The product is operated normally for 2 minutes after setting the date. During this period any operational anomalies are recorded. At the end of the period the current date is examined and verified to be correct. The display, printout and storage of the date is also verified to be correct.

Where only 2-digit years are used the inference rule given as the example in the BSI document under rule 3 is applied ie. 2-digit years with a value greater than 50 imply 19xx, those with a value equal or less than 50 imply 20xx. In the product Data Control/Peak Master where 3-digit years are used the inference rule is that this represents years in the 21st century eg. 3-digit year 107 + 1900 represents the year 2007.
