The Wheathampstead 10K/2K Family Fun Run is now in its seventh year and will be run on Sunday 20th May 2007.  It started life in 2000 as the Beech Hyde 10K/2K and was set up by one of the parents of Beech Hyde school as a fun and healthy way to raise funds for the school. What started as a small event - primarily for families of Beech Hyde and their friends - has gradually expanded over the years to become a huge community event.  Not only do runners come from all over the county and from as far afield as North London but the event itself involves the whole village. A team of parents help organise the run and local businesses give support with donations, advertising and supplies.  This year we are extremely lucky to have GHM Consultancy Group as our race sponsor. GHM has a history of being involved in the local community and has sponsored both of the village’s primary schools over the years, as well as supporting many events.

Last year over 650 runners registered to take part in the 10K and 584 of them ran the course. Another 581 entered the 2K of which approximately 350 were children.  We hope to see you this year!
